Cathode Ray Tube

Cathode Ray Tube

How much is it?? Price range is in-between $300 and $1600. This mostly depends on big the screen is.

How does it work?? A CRT uses an electron gun to shoot electrons at a phosporus screen in a set pattern. It generates clear light, which is turned into colored light when it hits the phosporus. It uses the colors: Red, Green and Blue to create all the colors on the screen.

Disadvantages!! * The glass tube is made from lead. * The glass tube contains toxic fumes from the heat. * The flicker can cause seziures due to eplepsy. * There is a risk that it may explode due to the high vaccum in the tube .

Advantages!! There really isn't much to say here, becauses it’s so outdated that there really isn’t any advantages that the other TVs haven’t made better.
